Why traveling is the best form of self-care?

Self-care comes in many forms, such as disconnecting from social media, listening to music, etc., but for us, traveling is the best and favourite form of self-care. Nothing calms us down and "invigorates" us more than an independent trip around the world.


Traveling is one of the most emotional, educational, and fun forms of self-care - it has many emotional and psychological benefits. Traveling itself opens your eyes, changes the way you see the world and, consequently, the way you look at yourself and your life.


Many times, traveling has made us think about different topics, because it's too easy to live in a bubble, a comfort zone, and sometimes traveling is something you need to do to appreciate the things you take for granted at home and in your homeland. Traveling "forces" you to step out of your comfort zone and move away from your everyday routine.


Here are some ways to maintain good self-care even when you're traveling:

  1. Listen to your body.

  2. Beat jet lag and get enough sleep every night.

  3. Take time to write down your thoughts every day.

  4. Include healthy foods and drink enough water.

  5. If you feel isolated, call your loved ones.

  6. Try a 10-minute meditation.

  7. Take a break from social media.
