Our Budva...

Welcome back to Girls vs Tourism!

Many times, someone asks us if something more unpleasant or terrible has happened to us on a trip together, given that we are younger women, and this is certainly one of the more scaring ones.

As we have written several times so far, we really like to travel to nearby destinations, and we decided on a country in the Balkans. So last summer we were in Budva, Montenegro. We were walking out of our airbnb through a park in the morning with the intention of going to brunch when two younger men started imitating meowing sounds and started walking towards us quickly.

As we started to leave the park, these two men stopped us and started saying something in Montenegrin. We replied that we don't speak it, then they started talking in broken English and one of them mockingly said and suggested the word sex. We both immediately said no and started walking towards the other end of the park, but at the end of the park they surrounded us and came into our personal space. When we looked at their eyes, we saw that their pupils were very dilated, we concluded that they were not conscious.

We quickly ran to a nearby store, which was right next to the park, with the intention of the two of them leaving. When we didn't see them anywhere we got out and started walking fast but they caught up to us around the corner and at that point we didn't know what else to do. Deciding to try and walk back to our airbnb, we started walking and that's when Danijela quickly turned around to see how far we were from them. They walked more slowly behind us, but at that moment they started speeding up and we also started running towards the next street, where are more cafes and consequently there will be more people, since it was ten in the morning.

As we were close to the cafes, we turned to see how far they were from us and then they pulled down their pants and started showing off their genitals. We just ran, ran all the way to the airbnb, where thank God they didn't follow us.
