You are on vacation, and the last thing you want to hear or do is to worry about your safety in the hotel.

Here are some hotel travel tips; some may seem obvious and some a little paranoid, but they are worth noting:

1. Check the hotels guest reviews.

2. Research the location of the hotel before booking (focus on locations that are in the city centre).

3. Study the hotel's security measures.

4. Be attentive and careful.

5. Never say your room number out loud.

6. Don't answer the door unless you know who it is.

7. Don't touch things without thinking about safety.

8. Keep the door always locked (when you sleep, shower, etc.).

We hope these tips give you some ideas on how to stay safe in a hotel while traveling. Although many seem unnecessary, we think they are worth mentioning, especially for female travellers, because knowledge makes us safer.
